Happy Friday, friends! The last two weeks have been really busy around here, and we are all fighting colds, but I have so many awesome things to share with you all and I can't wait!
But a quick baby update: I hit 20 weeks this last Monday, and I am feeling great (aside from the stuffy nose). The doctor says everything looks perfect, and our princess is growing exactly as she should be. We got to hear her heartbeat yesterday, and let me tell you, there is no greater sound than that! She is pretty active in there. I started feeling her a few weeks ago and she is constantly moving around - especially when I'm ready to go to sleep (but isn't that how it always goes?)!
Foe me, my pregnancy wardrobe is always a fun challenge in that I like to purchase basic items that I know I will use often, but also in that I don't want to look like I'm always wearing the same thing. So I use non-maternity items to make the looks different.
Two items I would definitely invest in while pregnant are a great pair of seamless leggings and a chambray shirt. I try to use as many non-maternity tops as possible, but when buttons don't close or the shirts start to get too short, it's time to switch over to maternity stuff. The leggings can be dressed up or dressed down, and the chambray shirt can be used year round.
For a day of drop off, pick up, a 20 week checkup (yes! 20 weeks already, can you believe it?!), and a couple of errands, I paired these basics with a pair of tan ankle boots and my daily bag. Sunglasses help hide the fact that I'm not wearing much makeup. If it was a little cooler out, I may have added a scarf or sweater, but it's still pretty stifling out.
The leggings are actually the only thing I have purchased recently. The top is from my first pregnancy, and the boots I purchased over two years ago. Also, I'm trying something new, and linking items from my looks at the end of my outfit posts. If the same item isn't available, I'm linking something similar. Let me know if you like this new feature!
The leggings I linked are the exact ones I have, and let me tell you - seamless leggings are a game changer. When you are pregnant and everything that digs in even just a little bit bothers you, not having seams digging into you is a godsend.
The booties with a 1.5 inch heel are the perfect height. Sometimes when I wear completely flat shoes too many days in a row, I get lower back pain. Adding a tiny bit of height to my heels gives my low back a break by taking some pressure off my heels. I actually bought these heels before we went to Paris a few years ago and I wore them at least 3 of the 10 days we were there!
Hope you enjoyed this look! Have a fabulous weekend, friends!
