Friday is St. Patrick's Day already. I can't believe we are halfway through March! I shot this look with Lauren of Laurel Creative and knew I wanted to post it this week. I know I mentioned in a previous post about how I couldn't believe some people make such a big deal about St. Patrick's Day, but the truth is, I grew up in a Catholic school run by Irish nuns (our team name was the Celtics). St. Patrick's Day was always a cause for celebration, and because I have been very close to some of those Irish Catholic nuns, it is a day I hold dear to my heart - just not for the reasons of green beer and leprechauns that everyone is all about now.
Truth be told, I may not even really celebrate the day. I will think of those Sisters of Mercy in my life fondly and I will say a prayer for them. But I will most certainly wear green!
I wasn't too sure about this outfit when I first put it on, but then I actually went crazy over it. I'm excited to wear it somewhere now! I like how the top balances out the skirt, and I love these lace up heels that my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas. I like that this dressier outfit is infused with some color, so it's fun while still being sophisticated. I paired it with a double layer choker and a simple envelope clutch that I've had for probably 10 years (don't ever get rid of classic pieces - they can always be used!).
And if you're not into St. Patrick's Day at all? This is a great spring outfit, and I'm so ready for all the pastels and brights and skirts and dresses that come along with spring!
